3.6.4. Conclusions
The process of wastewater treatment using ultrasonic electrochemical technology in the shrimp
farming model of Huetronics Company has basically solved the problem of water for shrimp farming
with 3 groups of solutions: combining ultrasonic electrochemical technology, microbiology and
non-antibiotic herbs have made shrimp farms increase productivity and product quality, develop
sustainably and protect the environment. This model can be suitable for many different farming sizes
of the household shrimp industry in Vietnam today.
In order to promote the process of applying it to actual production, certain incentive policies
are needed through measures such as support for interest rates on credit loans, investment support
for science and technology enterprises such as Huetronics to improve equipments to suit the
affordability of different customers to transition to a more environmentally sustainable shrimp
            farming process.

3.7. Model of smart agriculture at My Dong 2Cooperative, Dong Thap province

            3.7.1. General information
The scale of household production in agriculture in Vietnam has brought many advantages in ensuring
food security for the country and family in recent years. Under the impact of commercial agriculture
and world economic integration, this form is facing limitations that hindering the application of
scientific and technical achievements in irrigation, mechanization and especially digital agriculture.
An important condition for the application of these advances requires the production scale to be
large enough to promote investment efficiency. Therefore, in agricultural development policy, the
Vietnamese Government always encourages the development of a collective economy to take advantage
of economies of scale and optimal capabilities for the development of mechanization and the digital
industry. Many localities have built cooperative models through large investment programs for smart
agricultural models applying achievements of digital technology. One of the typical examples is the
smart farming model at My Dong 2 Agricultural Service Cooperative in Dong Thap province. Here,
the rice fields are monitored by phone. Watering and pest control are intelligently controlled, reducing
costs and hard work for farmers.

            3.7.2. Model development
My Dong 2 Agricultural Service Cooperative has 108 members with a production area of about 570
ha. The main crop here is rice. Implementing the agricultural restructuring project in Dong Thap
province, My Dong 2Cooperative always focuses on finding solutions to improve product quality and

reduce production costs for farmers. One of the solutions that the cooperative has paid special attention
to in recent years is to take advantage of all the support funds from the locality and social mobilization
sources to complete the in-field irrigation system, combined with solid construction. Electric pumping
station according to 4.0 technology to help people stabilize production.
With the attention of the provincial leadership, in 2017, My Dong 2 Agricultural Service
Cooperative carried out the construction of a system of electric pumping stations combined with
infrastructure (canals, in-field traffic, electricity, smart irrigation systems) and equipments adapting
to climate change, serving the 170ha area of the cooperative. Mr. Tran Phuoc Sang—Deputy Director
of My Dong 2 Cooperative said: “In the past, this area also had a pumping station, but the scale was

small, not enough to meet the production needs of the people. By 2017, with the attention of leaders
at all levels, more than 30 billion VND had been invested to build infrastructure including canals,
in-field traffic, electricity, smart irrigation system, which enable farmers to save water and reduce
            production costs”.
