The total rice land area of 3 countries Viet Nam, Lao PDR, and Cambodia
decreased from nearly 11.9 million ha in 2015 to nearly 11.6 million in 2021 (decrease
about 2.5%) and mainly due to decrease in rice land area of Viet Nam. It is clear from
below line graph the area number in Lao PDR was by far lowest. At the same time,
while the land rice area of Cambodia increased, there were a slight decrease in these
figures of Vietnam and Lao PDR. The rice land area of Viet Nam decreased by nearly
7.7% (average growth rate of 1.32%/year) while this number of Lao PRD decreased by
2.3% (0.40%/year), and the rice area of Cambodia increased by about 11.41% (1.82%/
year) during this period.
