Policy Brief Rural household livelihoods in Việt Nam in the 2008-2020 period

Summary

The policy brief “Rural household livelihoods in the 2008-2020 period” is a joint product of experts from Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development and independent experts in the regional project “Network of Agriculture and Rural Development think-tanks for countries in Mekong sub-region (NARDT) which is coordinated by IPSARD and funded by The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

Methodology

The research results, analysis and conclusions in this policy brief are based on desk study and field surveys in 4 provinces Son La, An Giang, Vinh Long and Hanoi. The analysis of rural household livelihood characteristics in this research is based on the theoretical framework of the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID) including 05 livelihood capitals: (i) Human capital, (ii) Natural capital, (iii) Phsical capital, (iv) Financial capital, and (v) Social capital.
